In case you missed yesterday\u2019s post, we\u2019re enjoying five fabulous gardens this week that were featured on the 2025 Secret Garden Tour in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and today we\u2019re continuing on to stop #2! If you missed yesterday\u2019s post, which features the first garden and more information on the tour, check that out here: Teresa\u2019s Serene Space<\/a>. Otherwise, scroll on to see a splendid mix of vegetables, flowers, and herbs in Anne Rick\u2019s gorgeous garden.<\/p>\n

Anne Ricks\u2019 garden reflects her Italian heritage, as well as her love of cooking. Just steps from her kitchen door, she can reach for herbs, two kinds of tomatoes, figs, and flowers, in beautiful raised beds. La Dolce Vita!<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/a>Edibles can just as much interest as your favorite foliage plants, with the added benefit of being able to eat what you grow. In this raised bed Anne has: \u2018Bright Lights\u2019 swiss chard (Beta<\/a> vulgaris<\/em>), \u2018Dolce Fresca\u2019 basil (Ocimum<\/a> basilicum<\/em>), Italian oregano (Origanum x majoricum, and curry plant (Helichrysum italicum<\/em>).<\/p>\n

\"fig<\/a>I love seeing Anne\u2019s combination of garden classics with some warm-climate plants that are harder to maintain in many other regions. The salmony-pink blooms of \u2018Senora\u2019 zinnia (Zinnia elegans <\/em>\u2018Senora\u2019, annual) and Sombrero\u00ae \u2018Adobe Orange\u2019 coneflower (Echinacea<\/em><\/a> \u2018Balsomador\u2019, Zones 4\u20139) would look stunning in just about any garden, a fig tree (Ficus carica and cvs., Zones 6\u201310) makes for a pretty delicious addition.<\/p>\n

\"container<\/a>While Anne has some fantastic fruiting trees, this one is all about the flowers. Golden dewdrop (Duranta<\/a> erecta<\/em>, Zones 9\u201311) is often grown as a shrub, but is occasionally trained into incredible small trees like this one. The gorgeous glaze on this pot would make is beautiful on its own, but some trailing plants take the interest to the next level and play into the \u201cdripping\u201d design.<\/p>\n

\"lime<\/a>Another pot squeezes some fresh fruit into Anne\u2019s garden. A lime tree (not sure of the variety\u2014maybe a Key lime?)\u00a0 with Berries Hill Toscana strawberry (Fragaria<\/em><\/a> x ananassa<\/em> \u2018Toscana\u2019, Zones 4\u201310) at the base of the pot.<\/p>\n

\"garden<\/a>Not all of Anne\u2019s plantings are potted. These tiered beds feature African lilies (Agapanthus africanus<\/em>, Zones 8\u201310) on the lower level and flurries of orange bulbine (Bulbine frutescens<\/em>, Zones 9\u201311) blooms on the upper two.<\/p>\n

Onion chives (Allium<\/a> schoenoprasum<\/em>), dill (Anethum<\/a> graveolens<\/em>), lavender, lemon thyme (Thymus<\/em><\/a> x citriodorus<\/em>)<\/p>\n

\"Roma<\/a><\/p>\n

Roma Tomatoes (Lycopersicon lycopersicum<\/em> \u2018Roma\u2019) , \u2018Santo\u2019 cilantro (Coriandrum sativum<\/em>) and basil at base.<\/p>\n

\"double<\/a>Lastly, a pot featuring one of my favorite color combinations: bright yellow and cool blue. Sunfinity\u00ae \u2018Double Yellow\u2019 sunflower (Helianthus<\/a> annus <\/em>\u2018Double Yellow\u2019, annual) with Silver Dollar eucalyptus (Eucalyptus<\/a> cinerea<\/em>, Zones 8\u201310) and Blue My Mind\u00ae dwarf morning glory (Evolvulus<\/em> \u2018USEVO1201\u2019, Zones 8\u201311).<\/p>\n
