sellers and propagate your own.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Propagation\">Propagation<\/h2>\n<p>There are two main methods for propagating fan aloe: growing from seed or rooting cuttings.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Seed<\/h3>\n<p>Growing new specimens from seed requires some patience, as germination can take many months.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fill three- to four-inch nursery pots with coarse sand.<\/li>\n<li>Sow up to three seeds per pot, planting them half an inch deep.<\/li>\n<li>Water the growing medium and apply a biofungicide according to the manufacturer\u2019s directions.<\/li>\n<li>Place the nursery pots under a humidity dome, and place in bright light with a few hours of direct sun every day or under a grow light.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the medium moist and re-apply biofungicide as directed on the package until the seeds sprout.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After germination, gradually remove the humidity direct sunlight for three weeks to allow the wound to heal or callus over.<\/p>\n<p>Choose an appropriately sized nursery pot for the cutting, and fill it with moist coarse sand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Insert the cutting into the sand.<\/p>\n<p>Water the medium when it dries out, and allow the cutting to establish roots for several months before transplanting.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transplanting<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re unsure whether it\u2019s time to repot a container-grown specimen or transplant a seed- or cutting-grown plant, the general rule is to wait until it has clearly outgrown its container.<\/p>\n<p>Signs include roots poking through the drainage holes or pushing up through the surface of the soil.<\/p>\n<div
